A girl friend came to stay with me recently and she was helping me put away my groceries. She laughed out loud as she pulled the organic lunch meat out of the bag. "What?" I asked a little puzzled. She replied with a question, “Why do you by organic lunch meat? Everything in your green bags are either organic, free range, natural, fresh stuff or locally grown. I mean, come on, right down to the salami? Doesn’t this cost a lot of money?”
My response to her went something like this: Yes, it does cost more to eat healthy. And why is that? Have you ever thought about what is lunch meat? Did those animals eat pesticides? Were they healthy before they were killed and now I am ingesting them? Is my lunch meat filled with preservatives so it will last an abnormal amount of time? What does all of that do to my body, brain, and children? On top of that, it has been proven that when we open that package of lunch meat the lunch meat can have Listeria on it. So now we could also be eating a sprayed on virus that kills the bacteria growing on our lunch meat.
I mean, come on, you need to think about this. Right down to your salami!
Free Range should be our right to think free, choose natural and promote good healthy bodies.
